Ever since high school, when I helped my friends perfect their essays and college applications, I have been passionate about helping others succeed academically. While earning my BA in English with a creative writing concentration at Barnard College, I worked as a Writing Fellow, tutoring college students in the campus writing center and in courses in a variety of subjects. I also tutored in Barnard’s summer programs, including one for incoming freshmen, and led workshops on skills including reading efficiently, close reading, and essay structure. In addition, I worked as a reading tutor in a New York City public school. After receiving my BA in 2013, I created literacy education materials for elementary and middle school students. In 2015, I began my PhD in English at Brandeis University, which I completed in 2020. At Brandeis, I worked as a writing center tutor and also taught many writing and English courses, including multiple sections of first-year college writing; I taught and tutored both in person and online. My extensive experience and pedagogical training allow me to help each student master English language skills and express their ideas clearly in their written work: I work with students as individuals to help them achieve their own goals. When I’m not teaching or tutoring, I enjoy reading and theater (when it’s open).
